Betsson Group launches online gaming in Buenos Aires

Betsson Group has strengthened its presence in the LatAm region by launching an online gaming product in the province and city of Buenos Aires.

Working with Casino de Victoria, a local land-based operator and a subsidiary of Grupo Mautone, Betsson has obtained regulatory clearance to launch an online gambling service in the region, which is still relatively new to digital forms of betting.

It is believed that the collaboration between the two operators can take advantage of the nascent online market, combining Betsson’s digital expertise with the local experience of Casino Victoria.

Pontus Lindwall, CEO of Betsson, commented: “The launch in Argentina marks another milestone in Latin America and further strengthens Betsson’s market presence in the region. The license from the province of Buenos Aires, combined with the license from the city of Buenos Aires, cements our position in the region.

“LatAm is a strategically important region where we are doing well and we have great ambitions for the future in Argentina.”

Both platforms, one city-focused and the other province-focused, offer a range of sports betting options, both pre-match and in-play; as well as a variety of online slots, table games and horse racing titles. Both offers are now live.

Ahead of the company’s online expansion into Argentina, it recently signed two deals to boost its presence in neighboring Brazil, with another partnership in Chile also struck since early 2022.

Betsson will sponsor two upcoming football tournaments in Brazil, namely Gauchao 2022 and the Pernambucano Championship. In Chile, the operator has signed a sponsorship contract with Colo Colo, the country’s most successful football club.
