Music in the park

â–  A free concert in the park, sponsored by Franklin Opera House and Watts Water Technologies, presents Bow Junction on Thursday, July 22 at 5 pm. They feature bluegrass and a touch of Celtic and gospel. Bring a blanket or folding chairs. Food available at Buffy the Hot Dog Slinger and Vulgar Brewery. Visit the farmer’s market at the same time which runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

â–  Get up and go to the July 29 performance of a play of the same name! The popular Franklin Area Children’s Theater (FACT) Summer Camp runs July 12-29 and concludes with a performance of ‘Get Up &’; Go ”on July 29. Visit franklinoperahouse.org for more details and to register for camp and purchase your tickets. Register your youngster now for Camp 2 which runs August 9-21.

â–  The Franklin Opera Celebrity Server Dinner, which usually takes place in the fall, has been replaced with “Aloha – Celebrity Server Cooking & Auction 2021” scheduled for Thursday August 26 at Mojalaki Country Club. â–  Activities have resumed at the TRIP Center: chair exercises Tuesday and Thursday, Bingo Tuesday and Thursday, Cribbage Group every Tuesday. Keep Movin ‘hopes to start in August. Line dancing will begin in September. Pick up the July newsletter at the Center. Call 934-4151 with any questions.

â–  Parcs & Loisirs is looking for seasonal workers for their summer programs. Students entering Grade 9 in the fall (or later) can enroll in the Education Advisor program. The program runs from July 1 to August 30. Donations to a scholarship fund for Parks & Rec programs are greatly appreciated.
