“Most people don’t know Helen Keller’s story until she was a child,” director Wash Westmoreland said. “Helen & Teacher will see her as a young adult when she has developed a radical political voice that changes the world.

“Today, as some TikTok discussion threads challenge Helen Keller’s accomplishments and even her existence, it’s time for a film that shows her relevance, brilliance, and unbreakable spirit.”

The film is written by Laetitia Mikles and Westmoreland in consultation with a team from the Helen Keller National Center for Youth and Adults.
