NBA – Clippers / Mavs Over 221 (-110): 8:30 p.m. CT on TNT
In all three games of this series so far, we’ve eclipsed that number twice, and I don’t think tonight is going to be any different than what it was just two nights ago when these two teams combined for 226 points. In this game, the Dallas Mavericks offense really struggled to get started and the game still went fairly comfortably.
If we get a more offensive result from the Mavs, that total will only increase as we now know their defense can’t stop a nosebleed. If you’re feeling wild, also take the -2.5 Clippers for even this series. But let’s play it safe and take over tonight.
NBA – Nets -7 vs Celtics (-110): 6 p.m. CT on TNT
Yeah, I know, Jayson tatum it’s rather good. But is he good for a 50-point back-to-back game? I do not think so.
This Boston Celtics team is relying a lot on their young star to keep them relevant in this playoff series, and I just can’t see him doing what he did on Friday night again tonight. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant and James harden are just too good that I don’t think they’re going to bounce back and get it right tonight.
I was interested in the end of this game as well, but my gut tells me the Nets should get away early with this one, that’s what I want to do.
MLB – ML A against Angels (-130): 15:10 CT
It comes down to both the pitching game and the fact that I don’t think the Oakland A’s will drop back-to-back games at this mediocre Los Angeles Angels ball club. Cole irvin was solid for A’s early this year, but Jose quintana has been BAD for the angels. Quintana currently has a 7.92 ERA and a WHIP dangerously close to 2.
This is not going to slip away for the left-handed starter against an Oakland formation with strong right-handed hitters. Look for the A’s to end this streak with another win tonight en route to a 3-1 series win over the Angels.
MLB – Twins / Royals Over 9 (-110): 1:10 p.m. CT on Bally Sports North
The Minnesota Twins offense is rolling right now, which helps, but that’s not really the main reason I like the end of the day.
Subs have been my favorite trend so far in baseball early this year, but the Twins have actually topped that total in five of their six games. Add to that this lousy throwing draw between two players who have struggled to prove they are worth a rotation spot this year.
The twins will send Matt shoemaker (5.48 ERA) as Kansas City Royals face their own struggling pitcher Brad keller (5.72 ERA). I haven’t locked this one down because I know how bad the Kansas City offense can be as well as the Minnesota streak, but I trust them to stay hot against a team they know they shouldn’t be late in the series on their way to a series victory.
If Shoemaker didn’t pitch for Minnesota I would take the -130 moneyline as well, but he is and I don’t trust him with a bet on the line.
Tiny Nick is 269-177 ATS (+80.7 units) on his locks since joining zone coverage.
Each day, it will offer its locks and its degenerate choices. Locks are the games he trusts. Degenerates are fun choices but riskier ones.
